Dr. Carolina Gutiérrez is an Associate Professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth in Houston, where she also serves as Director of Continuing Medical Education and Chief of Cancer Rehabilitation. She holds an adjunct faculty appointment in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology–Head & Neck Surgery. Dr. Gutiérrez completed her medical degree at Universidad El Bosque in Bogotá, Colombia, followed by postdoctoral training at MD Anderson Cancer Center, residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at East Carolina University, and a fellowship in Cancer Rehabilitation at MD Anderson.
Board-certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, she is actively involved in both inpatient and outpatient care across major Houston institutions, including Memorial Hermann and TIRR Memorial Hermann. Her clinical and academic work focuses on cancer rehabilitation, quality of life, and patient-centered care. Dr. Gutiérrez is an active member of several national and international professional organizations and has received multiple honors recognizing her contributions to the field.
