The Latin American Medical Association (LAMAH) hosted the continuing medical education (CME) event “Health Care Disparities: What Are They and What Can We Do About Them” on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at Etoile Cuisine in Houston. Registration began at 6:30 p.m., followed by the presentation at 7:00 p.m. delivered by William Hopkins, JD. The educational program offered participants the opportunity to earn CME credit while engaging in a meaningful discussion on an issue directly impacting patients, practices, and communities.
During the session, attendees learned to recall the definition and realities of health care disparities, recognize their impact on health care providers and community access, and identify practical actions physicians can take to help eliminate disparities. LAMAH organized the event to provide a platform for physicians and health care professionals to address this critical issue affecting the Greater Houston area and beyond.
