The Hispanic American Medical Association of Houston (HAMAH) is officially changing its name to the Latin American Medical Association of Houston (LAMAH). This change reflects our commitment to embracing the diversity within our community and being more inclusive of all Latino backgrounds.
We believe that “Latino” better captures the wide range of cultural identities, languages, and experiences that make up our vibrant community of healthcare professionals and trainees. Our mission remains the same—to provide support, mentorship, and advocacy for Latino healthcare workers while improving the health and well-being of the communities we serve.
This name change represents growth, unity, and a continued focus on empowering the next generation of Latino leaders in medicine.
